2012 Radius and NPS - EAP Error

i'm having trouble getting radius working. not familiar setting radius in general. have certificate root ca want apply , believe have applied it.  when client goes login they're getting error:

authentication details:
connection request policy name: secure wireless connections
network policy name: -
authentication provider: windows
authentication server: server.mydomain.local
authentication type: eap
eap type: -
account session identifier: -
logging results: accounting information written local log file.
reason code: 22
reason: client not authenticated  because extensible authentication protocol (eap) type cannot processed server.

the client windows 8 enterprise. server 2012. our wireless vendor ruckus.

sorry not answering sooner - no, cannot use wildcard certificate. i've had @ least 1 other case attempted , did not work. i'm sorry part of requirements san match fqdn of nps server , wildcard certificate unfortunately doesn't it.

server manager error: ADAM.events.xml could not be enumerated.
