i running windows 7 2008 r2 server, , windows 7 64 client with service packs on both. i have enabled folder redirection server, using dfs published namespace of personal folders documents, downloads, video, , music i an error synch center telling me 2 key files contain itunes library data out of synch. usually error copy on server has been deleted, , have local offline copy on client. i have resolve putting local copy on client on server via resolution dialogs i understand if logging in multiple clients, dont typically. files being accessed 1 client. so causes these 2 files consistently disappear. it happens lesser extent personal storage files in outlook 2010, on server. that root cause seems me having outlook when synch happens. but itunes isnt except when dock ipod, happens once every 2 weeks or more. yet files out of synch several times week clues on root cause?   thanks   hello, can post "exact" error message get? thanks ajayps

hey everyone... i've 've fianlly got hyper-v server work machine both of in workgroup.  i've connected win7 x64 through hyperv manger , trying create virtual machine.  have third server has the.iso images of software want install on hyper v server.  when try apply mount of dvd drive .iso through network ( \\otherserver\share1\file.iso ) error message stating following: error apply dvd drive change. failed add device 'microsoft virtual cd\dvd disk' user account not have permission open attachment.  it's genral access denied error. now, have third server iso image same username , passwords hyper v server 2008 r2.  both in same workgroup.  don't know complaing about.  also, menu let's me drill down through network share through folder see account there can't anythign network share issues.  i'm able read it. anyway have suggestions regarding permissions in case?  thanks.   bryan hi! you need add hyper-v hosts computer account

this convoluted process, best have.  i have preprinted forms - these not under control , cannot change them.  there multiple fields on forms have filled out.   there no template forms, normally, done old fashioned way on typewriter.  given "template" form in word 2010, using text boxes fields have filled out.  rather filling in text boxes, have been trying link them data entered excel file, 2010.  link works great , simplifies task data changes every , then, however, cannot link maintain formatting in word document.  excel throws in carriage returns, though selecting "link , use destination styles" when link data.  causes data move out of field area on preprinted form.   can fix deleting carriage returns, happens throughout document every time updates. is there way link without carriage returns, maintaining location of entered data? when linking data, try using 'unformatted text' link option. way, word's own style formatting applied. cheers

i had issue windows 2008 r2, , issue resolved kb2663685 , kb2831101. i've done inplace update of windows 2008r2 in file server - dfsr server, , after update, again problem: my biggest folder stopped replication after unexpected shutdown, , backlog count doesn't decrease . it's more 1.119.000 i've 5 replicated folder in same drive unit, 2 tb of data.but small ones replicate without problems any suggestion? hi, sorry delay in reply. had tested delete , recreate replication group, without success. i've resolved problem deleting dfsr database in source , destination server: i've removed replication group, i've stopped dfs replication service and  i' ve deleted system volume information dfsr database folder (renamed command prompt). after that, i've restarted service , reconfigured replication group.... , replication has started work fine! hi for years client have been able copy files our windows 2003 terminal server local workstation using: copy myfile \\tsclient\mydrive\myfolder however upgraded windows 2012 server r2 , windows 7 pro clients cannot copy files.  the copy function creates file name in local folder no content sent after maybe 20 minutes or copy function times out , error message saying application unable write file.  i have tried function windows 8.1 workstation , file copies , works fine older windows xp clients.  does know why windows 7 clients experiencing issue. thanks simon i discovered application not handling file copy function correctly.  for reason never caused problem when running under windows server 2003.  i have since changed application , copies files correctly client work station. thanks simon Windows Server  >

hi all, i installed dns manager on windows 2012 server . configured dns , able dns working internally. i added open dns address under dns forwarders (208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220) connected internet  and i getting unable resolve error.  please help thanks ajith hi ajith, based on description, in forwarders tab, displays unable resolve in corresponding server fqdn. try ping 2 external dns servers ip address internal dns server. if unable ping these forwarders, there network connectivity problems between internal network , internet. if able ping forwarders, please try use opendns server resolve domain names via nslookup tool. run command prompts administrator, type nslookup type server 208.67.222.222 type www.google.com if receives dns request timed out. issue firewall or other devices block dns traffic. please check firewall configurations. , disable firewall temporarily, try again. best regards, tina

for last 2 weeks have been playing hyper-v server 2012 r2. system based on celeron 847, wasn't expecting stellar performance. the mainboard has 1 integrated realtek 1gb nic. i installed windows 7 guest , created external virtual switch, connected onboard nic , allowed host share connection. this lead bad user experience when connecting guest system via remote desktop (freezes every few seconds). searched solution , found lot of recommendations add dedicated nic guests. the thing hands on on sunday apple 100mbit usb ethenet adapter use on macbook air. installed drivers on host , freezes inside guest system went away. because didn't want transfer files between guests , host via external 100mbit connection, added second switch, set internal. configured both host , guest static ips on internal switch sure route ip packets take. i mapped share on host network drive on guest (using ip address, not host name) , transferred large files between host , guest , noticed trans

so have easy powershell script contains following: import-module activedirectory get-aduser -filter * remove-module activedirectory if run powershell runs ok, when try call cmd nothing happens, opens powershell , thats it. using following command run it: powershell.exe -file "d:\test.ps1" i noticed following thing, 2 powershell.exe processes run after execute this. if exit cmd 1 powershell start seeing lists ps query should returning. there way working since trying run ps script scheduled job. crucial part here import module when run on cmd not happening reason. it's powershell 2.0 running on windows 2008r2. tried script on win 2012r2, works fine cmd... looks ps 2.0 limitation? what happens if do start powershell.exe -file d:\test.ps1 if find post has answered question, please mark answer. if find post helpful in anyway, please click vote helpful. don't retire technet
