Drive restriction and application error

hi

we have set group policy configuration hide , restrict drives on windows server 2008 r2 terminal server. is:

windows components/windows explorer

  • hide these specified drives in computer - restrict a, b , c drives only
  • prevent access drives computer - restrict c drive only

the issue have have application when runs, launches external application, because c drive restricted cannot found.

any thoughts around this?

i don't know if issue entirely due gpo settings, have same lockdowns (more strict actually, hiding , preventing access drives) if make shortcut notepad example, ts users can still launch it.  these settings more cosmetics lockdowns in explorer - if read gpo explanations state users still technically gain access c

have tried @ user access permissions particular app see if have effective rights? app require them write c drive or strictly read?

i suggest best practice keep ts applications on different volume c, it's more secure , easier administer when comes segregating/isolating permissions.

Cannot access Anywhere Access using domain name?

after installing anywhere access in windows server 2012 essentials r2, cannot use anywhere access using setup domain name in wizard such remote.mydomain.com? if enter public ip address, example, 72.2.34.5 works. before set anywhere access, created a record pointing public address...pinged , worked...so not sure doing wrong?  is wizard supposed create record etc , make remote.mydomain.com work? if enter public ip address while on lan, takes me router webpage.  shouldn't work on lan if accessed via public ip? thank you, tim. the wizard can configure remote.microsoft_names.com  remote.remotewebaccess.com but cannot configure domains purchased outside wizard.  depends on how domain configured if wildcard.yourdomain.com should work  if try ping remote.your_domain.com afar , not give proper  public ip, need add record mariette said. much have record domain.com www.domain.com , if have website somewhere else www.domain.com , need remote.domain.com go box gr

WMI Failure: Unable to update Local Resource Group
