i've stood server 2008 r2 enterprise ca, , created duplicate "smartcard logon" template. on client (whether it's on win7 or win8), success requested , received enrollment agent certificate in personal store.  ca certificate in trusted root , intermediate ca store, ntauth container. everything appears going well, until tried "enroll on behalf of" user smartcard logon certificate. when selected "enroll on behalf of," prompted browse enrollment agent certificate.  when clicked on browse, says no certificate available, though, it's in personal store.  requested , received new enrollment agent certificate, same issue. i'm out of ideas.  appreciated. thank you.  ok, - had encountered both issues: app. policy config , issue chain! this chain validation error quite uncommon. have probably disabled crl checking in gpo ca described here without setting ocsp url? background: according documentation error the cert

hi, i have odd problem, , 1 one installed server.  windows 2012 vm exchange 2013.  had powerloss seems crashed files. chkdsk fixed quite stuff.  i nailed down dhcpcore.dll, corrupt , nlm , dhcp service can't started (with error not valid file).  working others 2 services.  but noticed - removing kb2770917 fixes error, installing again (via windows update or manually) , 2 services not able start.  i tried sfs /scannow can't repair files, dhcpcore.dll. referred kb2770917, gave shot remove , happy working again, don't understand why installing again makes not work anymore. should fix file corruption, shouldn't it? , dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth stopped error: 0x80240021 didn't help.  when checking dhcpcore.dll - has same size , date on other servers. it's kinda weird, sfs tells it's not ok.  any thoughts how fix this? don't kb removed, our other servers have aswell without problems.  thanks patrick   hi, tha

hi all, i'm have following configuration (there's lot more simplified/consise version): hp dl380 g6 connected lefthand san (iscsi) 2008 r2 server core installed hyper-v role 2 vm's - both 2008 r2 (1 dc other running scvmm). vhd's on san. the issue i'm having during file copy dc to the scvmm server (an iso file or 2) one of servers hang - no blue screen, the network drops out (can't ping) , logging server via hyper-v manager connection either slow or hangs. managed the 'hung' server using different admin account , interstingly enough nic showed disabled. tried kill off other user session in task manager task manager ended 'not responding'. way to get server turn off , start again. i've tried logging dc , opening c$ on scvmm server to do copy - scvmm server hangs. if i do other way dc hangs. host server seems fine, remaining vm fine. there no event log messages, no blue screen - little go on. i've got 12 other servers in various cluster/sta

hello, have word 2010 document in need duplicate several pages on other pages in document.  i've done manually highlighting entire page wish duplicate , adding bookmark it.  then when later need copy of page merely cross-reference bookmark, insert it, , wallah! works expect to.  however, there pages in addition standard text contain text boxes.  although still able highlight, bookmark, , later cross reference these pages, cross-referenced  copies display text portion of original page while there blank spots on page text boxes , contents should be.  if explicitly select text box , bookmark able cross reference it, problem seems when entire page selected text boxes don't selected along regular text on page.  my first thought hold ctrl key down , try select text boxes too, apparently such multiple selections not available in word.  i've had similar problem symbols "symbols" font not being displayed via cross-reference. thanks, ray i'm afraid

hello. we have windows 2003 server standard 32bits(standalone in workgroup. no dc). , have access morning administrator , installed deployment of 3ds max 2012. after make deployment have rebooted server , can not access administrator account, can access accounts (no administrative). now if access standard user, can see "dns server cannot open server zone in active directory". id 4001. server not dns server , no dc. how can solve this? thanks. hi, do mean administrator password missing? if so, need administrator reset password original one. otherwise, have reinstall operating system. regards, arthur li technet community support Windows Server  >  Server Manager

dear all, first post ever on forum please tell me if things go wrong. 3 months ago installed windows server 2012 essentials on hp ml350 g6 plenty of space , power it's job. working smoothly except 1 thing, important thing, back-up failing. i'm using windows back-up solution perform full back-up of entire system. walked trough standard windows back-up wizard via server manager, checked selection, added 2 2,5" disks connected via usb , set back-up once day. far think. everything worked great till moment drives got full. assumed windows back-up checks available free disk space on disks , overwrites back-up sets nessesary reach nessesary amount of free space start back-up. sbs2011 seems not work anymore in server 2012. unfortunately can't find working. i re-formatted drives. removed partitions , re-added them, removed them via back-up wizard , added them afterwards. nothing seems work. is there trick can use make sure back-up works without hassle can night
