fresh install of server 2012 essentials. no programs installed. did os install, turned server off week. powered yesterday afternoon, plugged in wireless keyboard , mouse. good. went work on today. log in , metro ui blank. no app icons @ all. if type in(internet explorer instance) search box slides out , there listings under settings show , can click nothing show under apps. nothing. we did shut down , power on. same thing. 1 website said restart, not shut down. still same issue. tried changing cable mouse , keyboard, same issue. any suggestions great. don't want reinstall os unless have , not sure issue won't return. thanks. corrupt user account indeed issue. set admin account, logged in , well. just wish knew caused it. thanks help. i have installed 3 tcp/ip printers on server 2008 x64.  when tried install additional drivers windows 7 x86 clients using windows 7 x86 driver package vendor said "the folder specified not contain compatible software driver device". so figured out wanted drivers server 2008 x86.  did not complain when tried install those. i'm using new group policy adding/updating/replacing/deleteing printers under computer configuration-->preferences-->control panel settings-->printers i did test run windows 7 x64 machine printers did not installed.  error message in event logs says " group policy object did not apply because failed error code '0x80070bcb specified printer driver not found on system , needs downloaded.' error suppressed" i figured doesn't want use windows server 2008 x64 drivers on windows 7 x64 system.  tried go windows 7 x64 system , install compatible windows 7 x64 driver server 2008 printserver clicking start, run, \\servername\   click

hello everyone, i'm getting 2 event-records eventid 6013: "the system uptime <number> seconds." on windows server 2008 domain controller? normally should receive 1 event-record every day @ 12 o' clock, recieve same event 2 times. it first started additional domain controller (also w2k8 server virtual 1 hosted on hyper-v). after playing w32time service receive on primary on additional domain controller. second occurence 1 15 seconds after first one.   every time check logs, starts bug me there 2 instead of 1 occurences. does have clue service triggers event? , why it's doing 2 times instead of 1?   thanks help! best regards, d. hi,   i suggest disable , enable boot logging again check result.   for more information, please refer following microsoft kb article:   how enable verbose startup, shutdown, logon, , logoff status messages in windows server 2003 family http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325376  

hello, we're running vamt3.1 on server 2008 r2. first issue appeared when trying add kms key windows 10 enterprise. error saying wasn't valid vamt database. found out because admin created vamt database left company , database had him set owner. able change owner nt authority\system , can access in vamt. windows 7 pro/enterprise , windows 8.1 enterprise machines still activate without issue. the windows 10 enterprise kms key has been added vamt refuses activate. "no key management service contacted". i've forced client point correct kms host using slmgr /skms command, ensured correct key installed on client. there security-spp event shows "the client has sent activation request kms machine" , lists correct info kms host. kms event log on host shows "an activation request has been processed" client in question no other errors why client still won't activate. i know there threshold of 25 requests before machines activated specif
