Metro UI completely blank

fresh install of server 2012 essentials. no programs installed. did os install, turned server off week. powered yesterday afternoon, plugged in wireless keyboard , mouse. good. went work on today.

log in , metro ui blank. no app icons @ all.

if type in(internet explorer instance) search box slides out , there listings under settings show , can click nothing show under apps. nothing.

we did shut down , power on. same thing. 1 website said restart, not shut down. still same issue. tried changing cable mouse , keyboard, same issue.

any suggestions great. don't want reinstall os unless have , not sure issue won't return.

corrupt user account indeed issue. set admin account, logged in , well.

just wish knew caused it.

server manager error: ADAM.events.xml could not be enumerated.

i have domain server windows 2000 sp4. my clients using win xp , win 98. when send messages computer management-shared folders-rightclick-all task-send message connected users, message received clients using winxp but not in  win 98 .how send them without winpopup  , net meeting. this forum windows server 2008.   check messenger service running on win98-clients.
