Windows Server 2012 Essentials backup --> Disks full so back-up fails

dear all,

first post ever on forum please tell me if things go wrong.

3 months ago installed windows server 2012 essentials on hp ml350 g6 plenty of space , power it's job. working smoothly except 1 thing, important thing, back-up failing.

i'm using windows back-up solution perform full back-up of entire system. walked trough standard windows back-up wizard via server manager, checked selection, added 2 2,5" disks connected via usb , set back-up once day. far think.

everything worked great till moment drives got full. assumed windows back-up checks available free disk space on disks , overwrites back-up sets nessesary reach nessesary amount of free space start back-up. sbs2011 seems not work anymore in server 2012. unfortunately can't find working.

i re-formatted drives. removed partitions , re-added them, removed them via back-up wizard , added them afterwards. nothing seems work.

is there trick can use make sure back-up works without hassle can night sleep change? :)

hope can me out.

p.s. did see 11 updates including update roll-up available download , install right don't think affect back-up result.

hi:

you windows backup solution.  using wbadmin or backup found on essentials dashboard.  in either case backup incremental.  is, second , subsequent backups should fast , "copy" block level changes.  however, if have 2 tb of usable space on server , 1 tb target results problematic , if have more 2 tb of usable space in 1 volume fail.

there longer explanation of how works found in 2 links below:

http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2008/11/03/introducing-sbs-2008-backup.aspx

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/1919.sbs-2011-v-backup-restore-and-disaster-recovery.aspx

as see in second link possible versions later server 2008 file level backups wbadmin, have not tested essentials 2012.
