Migrating to new Domain

   day all,

   in process of migrating old domain (xyzug.co.ug) new domain (xyz.co.ug). have setup new domain , i'll use office 365 on new domain still need access file server in xyzug.co.ug xyz.co.ug can't create in new domain due hardware resource challenge.

   hoping create forest trust between xyzug.co.ug , xyz.co.ug file access. created new dcs in new domain same names dcs in old domain , failing create forest trust.

   xyzug.co.ug     dc1= dc01.xyzug.co.ug, dc2= dc02.xyzug.co.ug

   xyz.co.ug         dc1=dc01.xyz.co.ug , dc2= dc02.xyz.co.ug

   believe workaround rename dcs in new domain hoping avoid installed skype business in new domain , working.

   errors when try validate trust when creating it. "can't continue: access denied". generates sc query error. advice highly appreciated.

have seen other cases same issue. seems establishing trust between 2 independant forests different dns , netbios names, duplicate netbios names of dcs not possible.

i'm afriad workaround here rename dcs, realised.

server manager error: ADAM.events.xml could not be enumerated.

i have domain server windows 2000 sp4. my clients using win xp , win 98. when send messages computer management-shared folders-rightclick-all task-send message connected users, message received clients using winxp but not in  win 98 .how send them without winpopup  , net meeting. this forum windows server 2008.   check messenger service running on win98-clients.
