RemoteApp does not use redirected local default printer

i've seen several different threads on topic none of reported solutions have worked in network.  problem summary: windows vista clients running dynamics gp 2010 remoteapp installed on server 2008 r2 remote desktop services not correct default printer.

the server 2008 r2 datacenter vm on hyper-v host.  main application on server dynamics gp 2010.  gp 2010 configured run remoteapp.

clients windows vista x86 latest sp , updates.  remote desktop client 6.1.7600 , rdp 7.0.  configured connect using default credentials there no windows login when connecting.  client configured redirect printers user keeps default , other nearby printers.  end result when user runs gp 2010 remoteapp, redirected printers show application defaults pdf printer.  in testing same results using wordpad remoteapp.

the time correct results when log remote desktop first , start application.  have tried every suggestion many of related topic threads on past 2 days no improvement - group policy changes, rdp client configuration changes, checking client , server event logs, verifying recommended updates installed.  leaving sessions active not option since interferes getting backups in gp2010.

any ideas on solution problem?  thank in advance.

microsoft reporting not have fix not considered critical or creating work stoppage.  there no plan fix in 2008 r2 release.

however, did provide workaround.  i have read couldn't find example test.

  1. create batch file these commands:
  2. @echo off
  3. ping 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 10000 >nul
  4. start "falsetitle" "c:\program files (x86)\microsoft dynamics\gp2010\dynamics.exe" "c:\program files (x86)\microsoft dynamics\gp2010\dynamics.set"
  5. save batch file in location users have @ least read-only permissions.
  6. use remoteapp manager set batch file remoteapp.
  7. create rdp (or msi) file batch , distribute rdp (or msi) file

the ping command creates 10 second delay between start of session , start of dynamics gp.  the users see blank command window during 10 second delay goes away when dynamics gp starts.  #4 in list contains default path dynamics gp 2010 adjust accordingly environment.

i have run in test environment , on 1 live user , far results good.  once confident works , have users on mark "answered".
