Windows 7 machine gets error 0x000003e3 when connecting to 2003 Print Server

we have several field offices.  each 1 has it's own print server (windows 2003 standard) in office.  added x64 drivers support roll out of window 7 (64bit) machines.  (not all) of windows 7 machines error 0x000003e3 cannot connect printer.  have seen other posts create local port , point printer share location , manually install printer driver.  me, seem defeat purpose of having print server, supposed make easier install , manage printers.  else have other ideas on resolving issue?

hi,

thanks post.

the error code 0x000003e3 indicates i/o operation has been aborted because of either thread exit or application request.

now wondering if issue occur when adding printer problematic win7-based machine domain admin account. are all network printers affected?

to troubleshoot issue, please check if issue occur in clean boot mode.

clean boot
=============
let's disable startup items , third party services when booting. method determine if issue caused loading program or service. please perform following steps:
1. click "start", go "run", , type "msconfig" (without quotation marks) in open box start system configuration utility.
2. click "services" tab, check "hide microsoft services" box , click "disable all" (if not gray).
3. click "startup" tab, click "disable all" , click "ok".
4. click "ok" restart computer selective startup environment.
5. when "system configuration utility" window appears, please check "don't show message or launch system configuration utility when windows starts" box , click ok.
6. check whether or not issue still appears in environment.
note: temporarily disabling startup group prevents startup programs loading @ startup. shouldn't affect system or other programs. may still manually run these programs later.

if problem continues, please collect mpsreport on problematic client.

1. download proper mps report tool website below.

microsoft product support reports
