changing domains on LAN

we upgraded our network server 2008 server 2003.  file serving still being done on server 2003 machine.

-dns , dhcp on 1 box running server 2008
-terminal services 1 one box running server 2008

domain controlling done @ high school in our district, doing here can use group policy.  when abandoned old domain name (vues) in favor of new 1 (vues0), figured after joining workstations new domain, old 1 go away.  but, when browse network, see both.  and, in both domains see same workstations.  gives???

will

when said abandoned old domain, did proper decommissioning of domain , domain controllers? rename domain (if conditions met, refer link below):

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc738208.aspx (2003)
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc816848.aspx

download domain rename tools (2003):

you have done in-place migration of domain if want keep old domain in existence. can leverage on capabilities of admt ease migration process if these 2 domains in different forests. may have proper decomissioning of old domain , cleanup of ad data:
