Printer reported as 'offline' problem

hi all

i wondering if 1 has suggestions on problem please?

printer: hp clj 2550n
server: windows server 2003 sbs sp2

i can print printer via ip direct mac out issue. on server though printer shared users reports 'offline'. isn't can print directly. no other printers shared on server have issue , work fine. if restart 'print spooler' service can print 1 job set offline again. can access web interface server of printer out issue unfortunately it's jet direct type web interface, not web interface interact printer self (even though built in jetdirect!).

- have downloaded latest driver off hp website , installed it. have tried generic 'hp colour laserjet' driver on server. same occurs.

- restarted server asking after monthly windows update run anyway.

- changed network cable, in case!

- printed off config/status pages off printer. no errors shown.

any suggestions welcome please :)

ok, going answer myself! searched before made error of searching problem model of printer. simpler such turned http://support.microsoft.com/kb/946198

yes, forgot had changed snmp settings other day see monitor via snmp (nothing overly useful me turned out!). d'oh.

i have domain server windows 2000 sp4. my clients using win xp , win 98. when send messages computer management-shared folders-rightclick-all task-send message connected users, message received clients using winxp but not in  win 98 .how send them without winpopup  , net meeting. this forum windows server 2008.   check messenger service running on win98-clients.
