this means true master browser, possibly server you're seeing event on, supposed master, reason may dropping network connection. time see workstation, , assuming "computer xxxxxxxxxx " in post workstation, when request browse master initiated (such clicking on network neighborhood), , master browser not responding.

here's more info on how troubleshoot culprit is:

.

===
troublshooting computer browser service

keep in mind, each subnet has it's own master browser, , work wins service using wins, enumerate infrastructure wide browse list. if not using wins, uses broadcasts, if in multi-subnetted environment, , want full browsing capabilities, it's suggested use wins.

we have keep in mind troubleshooting browser service, there time period have wait list enumerate , become available on master. example when server shut off on segment, , workstations kick in, or server rebooted, wins election, , begins new cycle enumerate browse list wins and/or broadcasts. can take minimal of 12 minutes, upwards 48-minute full propogation cycle in multiple-segment domain environment.

and default settings out-of-the-box, work fine, otherwise you'll find trying change reg entries on multiple servers.

if find workstations becoming masters, there server operating systems on subnets? if not, workstation win master. if there server os, , it's not multihomed, if dc on subnet , it's not multihomed (multihoming dc bad idea), should win, unless there's problem machine itself, such sort of security setting in antivirus blocking traffic, or firewall blocking traffic on it.

make sure computer browser service started.
make sure netbios enabled on everything.
on windows 2003 , 2000, install support tools (from windows cdrom) in order have "browstat" utility available. in windows 2008 , newer, utility installed part of operating system files.

note: multihomed dc major cause of browser problems. multhoming dcs not recommended multiple reasons, including "multihomed browser" scenario. more info regarding multihoming , why not it:

multihomed dcs (with more 1 unteamed nic or multiple ips) dns, rras, iscsi, and/or pppoe adapters - multihomed dc not recommended configuration, there ways configure such dc work properly.

if there antivirus software, block browser traffic. of course assuming computer browser service running.

run browstat status see browse master segment. if it's not pdc emulator, , other device won election, can cause problem.

to check current status of browse service on domain, run:
 browstat status

you should response similar to:
 browsing active on domain.
 master browser name is: <servername>

note, machine current master browser either be, depending if machine type exists on segment: pdc emulator, replica dc on segment, member server, joined workstation, or workgroup member, unix or linux samba, etc. if find device winning election, need disable ability in device. if there no features that, contact support department, or put device behind it's own subnet or vlan prevent winning election on production network.

find current browse master on segment, you'll have find transportid:
 first run:

  browstat getmaster \device\netbt_el59x1 <domainname>

it error out because "netbt_el59x1" doesn't exist, , respond transports bound browser. copy , paste  the transport show next command:
  browstat getmaster \device\netbt_tcpip_{c2055954-4f86-446f-acba-e00be731c3fb} <domainname>

force election running:

 browstat elect \device\netbt_ieepro1 <domainname>

check event logs see machine won election. if it's device, such i've found linux/unix samba, or devices such seagate nas, may win election , cause browsing havoc within environment , familiar, unwanting "access denied" when trying browse.
