DFS-R Remote Differential Compression & Licensing


is enterprise licensing required use remote differential compresison? feature comparison chart implies required appears available in standard version. i have 2 windows 2008 r2 sp1 std systems replicate , forth using single dfs namespace multiple replicated folders. seems rdc being used, how can confirm this, if so, correct answer regarding licensing?

this not error. cross-file replication more rdc, , feature not available on standard skus. information mentioned on link is correct.

cross-file rdc allows dfs replication use rdc when file same name not exist @ client end. cross-file rdc uses heuristic determine files similar file needs replicated, , uses blocks of similar files identical replicating file minimize amount of data transferred on wan. cross-file rdc can use blocks of 5 similar files in process.

to use cross-file rdc, 1 member of replication connection must running edition of windows supports cross-file rdc.
