Unable to backup W2K8 R2 SP1 server using BackupExec 2010 - Environmental Problem??

since rebuilding our fileserver february , upgrading os w2k8 r2 (from w2k3 - not in-place upgrade) have been having problems backing files , folders using symantec backupexec 2010.  job runs , after random amount of time job hang, job rate drop , no more data backed up.

i have been working extensivly symantec try , establish cause , fix problem.  symantec think might environmental on server causing issue - never had issue when server running w2k3 r2.

as example, started job last night , manage job rate of around 500mb/min.  have been forced cancel job because hung.  have re-run backup job removing problem server selection list , whilst backing w2k8 r2 sp1 server getting ~2000mb/min

there nothing strange setup (as far can see), 3 folders containing documents on 2 seperate volumes, no dfs, server running fsrm , have disabled ipv6 thought causing issue.

can think of thing environmental windows might causing such issue?

hi,

as backupexec 2010 work fine other windows 2008 r2 sp1 server, not compatible issue between backupexec , windows 2008 r2 sp1.

if supported, let's try disable third party programs , backup again. can use steps in article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 to boot computer clean boot mode third party programs disabled. check and re-enable any service , startup item which related backupexec before apply clean boot steps. make sure antivirus program disabled after clean boot mode.

if work fine in mode, can continue narrow down find root cause.
