i have windows 2008 standard sp1 , hyper-v runns on hp dl360 g5 server.
i have 2 hp nc373i network card teamed hp network team , that connected the hyper-v network.
i have installed 5 vista x86 guest os system runns on hyper-v.

the problem have rdp vista guest os , throu 1 open windows vpn (pptp) connection customer.
at first, thrown out guest os after starting pptp due "set network location" popps , have logg on via vmm answer "work".
after have reponded poppup can logg on vista guest os on hyper-v via rdp again , connected both guest os , customer.
the next time logg on vista guest os machine connect customer kicked out again time can logg on again to guest os , customer.

is there way disable the "set network location" because have lot of customers use type of connection.
i have tried set registry "hklm\system\currentcontrolset\control\network\newnetworkwindowoff" did not work.
and there way not kicked out when start pptp after the "set network location" have been ansverd?

hi,

based on current situation, suggest try connect guest vista using hyper-v manager. "connect" in hyper-v manager not affected network settings. it’s more stable , reliable.

if you’re using vista remote manage hyper-v,  can install windows vista service pack 1 management tools update hyper-v manager vista. open hyper-v manager, right-click hyper-v manager in left panel, choose connect server.

if use remote desktop connect guest os, please collect following information narrow down cause of issue.

1.       please let me know network infrastructure. ip, dns server configuration, etc.

2.       click start, type cmd, type "route print >c:\route.log" before , after vpn connection on vista guest os , windows xp guest os. send log files tfwst@microsoft.com further research.

thanks.
