Hide Properties from My Documents icon

hi:

there gpo disable properties menu documents icon on desktop

user configuration > administrative templates > desktop > remove properties documents icon context menu

but seems working windows xp.

is there registry key acheive similar results in windows 7?

registry item stores configuration data policy setting remove properties documents context menu located at:

hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer\nopropertiesmydocuments

you can find 2 more related registry items:

hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer\nopropertiesmycomputer
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer\nopropertiesrecyclebin

but after test, nopropertiesmycomputer , nopropertiesrecyclebin setting works windows 7 computer related group policy setting works windows 7.

but nopropertiesmydocuments setting seems not tack effect on windows 7 computer.

i think reason windows 7 rebuild documents folder structure, group policy settings not available windows 7. can’t find related ms articles support this.
