Trouble installing RD Session host role

i've searched high , low have not yet found answer problem.

i have 2 server 2012 physical machines hooked in a cluster.

the 2 machines running remote desktop virtualization host & hyper-v roles.

i have server 2012 machine running in cluster hosted vm. server runs remote desktop connection broker and licencing server.

this works fine.

the problem add remote desktop session host role 2 physical machines. unfortunately errors out during 2nd reboot when installing role.

i have turned on rds logging rdmsui_tracing  environment variable , enabling debug logging under "applications , services logs\microsoft\windows\rdms-ui\debug" in event log.  i'm getting no log files in c:\windows\logs\.

the error of is:

component rdmsui: failed fetch local db connection string server: <server running in vm (rdcb+rdls)>.<domain>: system.management.automation.remoteexception: property dbconnstring not exist @ path hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\tssdis\parameters.
   @ microsoft.remotedesktopservices.common.deploymentmodel.executepowershellscript(string servername, string script, object argumentlist, boolean islocalhost)
   @ microsoft.remotedesktopservices.common.deploymentmodel.ishighavailabilityconfigured(string managementserver)

the issue have session servers cannot connect connection broker.

you cannot have both roles virtual machine deployment (virtual host) , session deployment (session host roles) on same server. 

try creating virtual machine session server , see if same error.
