Failure Moving VM to 2012 Cluster
i having problem moving vms our standalone 2012 hyper-v boxes cluster. if try move standalone cluster node goes through entire move process (very compared how long takes 'shared nothing' move beteween standalone hosts) , fails @ end "virtual machine migration failed @ migration source" , "failed establish connection because destination host rejected request: element not found." error code 0x80070490. must happen after migration complete beacuse if @ destination folder has right size vhds there. have tried migrating storage csv , local direct attatched storage on target host.
strangely enough if move scvmm works , automatically sets vm cluster resource. don't mind using scvmm nice know what's tripping me on other front. assistance appreciated!
hi,
how performed vm “move” action? shutdown vm, select “move” option , use “move vm wizard”? in “move vm wizard” step 3, “specify destination”, name did select, hyper-v node name or cluster name?
you mentioned “shared nothing move”, did mean windows server 2012 hyper-v vm live migration in non-clustered scenario? have tried use “shared nothing move” move vm cluster, what’s result?
also notice mentioned source host standalone 2012 hyper-v, standalone server, not domain joined server?
move vm using scvmm supported , lots of blog articles describes detailed steps. move vm standalone server hyper-v cluster, don’t find such articles. check above questions , give feedback further troubleshooting.
