installing Windows XP SP3 with WSUS fails

hi all,

i have installed , configured wsus 3.0 sp1 on windows server 2003 eneterprise r2, desktops configured through group policy , working fine

when trying install windows xp sp3, installation through wsus fails on several machines, , svcpack.log displays like:

258.109: service pack 3 setup encountered error:  the  update.ver file not correct.

but when run update.exe, downloaded localy machine, works fine, , sp3 installed

can cause error?

did run repair installation on machine recently?

if so, after running repair installation, did verify updates reinstalled?

these messages here suggest me system thinks kb916281 , kb925902 should installed, folders , inf file updates cannot found.

1. reinstall kb916281.
2. reinstall kb925902.
3. retry xp sp3.
