Destination Folder Access Denied - Copying File to the root of C:\

hello,

this first post here excuse me on etiquette.

i have made new serveron domain , did copy permissions created on server have done in past save time. only time not able copy files anywhere root of c:/ drive without getting annoying popup looking elevation. have set uac minimum settings , have
logged in using administrative credentials yet problem still persists. not me affecting manager , co-worker having same issue.

after allow elevation go through explicitly adds user account file created or copied. wondering cause of , how resolve it.

many in advance

hi eddie,

thank post.

yes, uac feature cause elevation prompt when copy files drive c root folder.
disable uac via group policy:
1. run gpedit.msc, navigate , browse computer configuration--windows settings--security settings--local policies--security options
2. set policy user account control: behavior of elevation prompt administrators – elevate without prompting
3. set policy user account control: detect application installations , prompt elevation – disabled
4. set policy user account control: run administrators in admin approval mode – disabled

the workaround use built-in administrator account operate or copy file drive c subfolder instead of root folder.

if there more inquiries on issue, please feel free let know.

regards
