Can't delete some old VHDX files

howdy,

i had old vms hadn't been used while wanted go delete files save on space.  vms had been removed cluster , had been powered off many months.

i went hyper-v manager , deleted vms.  went storage location of files , tried delete them keeps telling me vhdx files in use something.

in past, once had deleted actual vm, freed , able delete files.  there way tell why can't remove these files?

thanks.

i guessing have vms using them whether aware of or not.
