Group Policy is affecting the wrong group


i new windows server , working on project in class. have 3 groups faculty, staff, , students. following restrictions configured using group policy:

make mapped drives x, y , z
x = facutly
y = students
z = staff

allow faculty rights x
allow students rights y
allow read staff on z

restrict controll panel staff
restrict calendar , control panel student
allow read y faculty

i don't have acess server right can't post screen shot looks this

hcc
     faculty
         faculty(gpo)
     staff
         staff(gpo)
     students
         students(gpo)

the map drives work. problem staff should able manipulate calendar can't. thoughts?

you can proceed 2 possible methods:

method1:

create 3 ous:

  • ou1: faculty
  • ou2: staff
  • ou3: students

once done, move users , computers right ou , apply wanted group policies.

method2: 

put users in ou , create 3 groups in ou:

  • group1: faculty
  • group2: staff
  • group3: students

once done, use gpmc.msc and select group policy click on delegation. once done:

  • if want group policy applied on group grant allow permission read and apply group policy
  • if want exclude group appliance of group policy grant deny permission apply group policy
