1. role of interactive service detection in windows 2008 environment.

2. role when related remote desktop

services , system processes run in session 0. prior vista/server 2008, console (first logged on user’s desktop) ran in session 0 well. vista/server 2008 introduced session 0 isolation protect services elevation of privilege exploits console desktop. now, first user’s desktop runs in session 1.

interactive services detection (the blinking button on taskbar) mitigation legacy applications detects if service trying interact desktop. handled interactive services detection (ui0detect) service.

when choose “view message”, taken session 0’s desktop , can interact dialog or message services have tried display on desktop.
