Server 2008 domain same as external that we want to get to

here issue having:

we have internal domain "domain.com" our website hosted on external ip address. internal users not have access our website located on internet because our internal dns thinks address located internally somewhere , cannot resolve...

so...

we added "a" records both "domain.com" , "www.domain.com" , point proper ip addresses on web... works charm, however...

the problem arises when wish create subdomain "anything.domain.com" , try point actual url not ip address of website (www.domain.com/some_directory1/some_directory2)! how 1 accomplish this? it's driving me nuts!

any feedback appreciated!
