WSUS policy

please please please can microsoft include option in group policy "install updates , reboot".

have lots of 24/7 satellite sites , staff happy initiate installation @ quiet times it's annoying when come , machine powered down

cheers

lawrence,

yes.... shutdown option was talking about. option available "install , shutdown" , annoying in 24/7 environment. @ shift change users don't pay attention security screen (as know... they're not smartest cookies) if configure group policy "install , shutdown", new user wonder why pc isn't responding (off) , they'll annoyed @ slowness of booting (when it's going through "configuring updates rigmarole"). @ least having option reboot, go through largely unnoticed!

again, 24/7 environment can't schedule updates users may giving briefing or similar @ time update silently it's stuff!

many input....

i argue in 24x7 environment should not dependent on users executing update installation event console of a workstation. if shift changes occur @ known times, schedule installation run 1 hour before end of shift, , configure restart warning delay time 45 minutes. needs happen departing user either clicks on restart now, or logs off of machine, , machine promptly reboot.
