When I run the serverconnect utility, client loses DNS information and serverconnect will fail

everytime run serverconnect utility, dns information keep changing isp dns 24.x.x.x

i have dns on clients set server ip , router ip remove information , revert isp's.

i've tried removing dns features server , didn't help. tried re-adding features, same issue.

i've scoured forums , tried disable automatic dns in registry keys, still doesn't work.

any ideas?

hi,

in general, dns server installed/enabled when installing/configuring windows server essentials. 

on client, enable 1 nic available. open network adapter properties - tcp/ipv4 properties – use following dns server address – manually enter essentials server’s ip address preferred dns server, save change.

open ie on client, type “http://<ip address of essentials server>/connect” connect client essentials server.

also, make sure client computer on same ip subnet server running windows server essentials when client computer on same network server.

if had manually configured dns server on client, there should registry “name server” ip address data located @ below location:
hkey_local_machine\system\currentcontrolset\services\tcpip\parameters\interfaces\{deviceguid}

there 3 steps connect client essentials:
1. connect server download connector.exe.
2. install connector.exe.
3. configure connector.exe.

if problem persists, please clarify step has problem, provide relate screenshot if possible.

Cannot access Anywhere Access using domain name?

after installing anywhere access in windows server 2012 essentials r2, cannot use anywhere access using setup domain name in wizard such remote.mydomain.com? if enter public ip address, example, 72.2.34.5 works. before set anywhere access, created a record pointing public address...pinged , worked...so not sure doing wrong?  is wizard supposed create record etc , make remote.mydomain.com work? if enter public ip address while on lan, takes me router webpage.  shouldn't work on lan if accessed via public ip? thank you, tim. the wizard can configure remote.microsoft_names.com  remote.remotewebaccess.com but cannot configure domains purchased outside wizard.  depends on how domain configured if wildcard.yourdomain.com should work  if try ping remote.your_domain.com afar , not give proper  public ip, need add record mariette said. much have record domain.com www.domain.com , if have website somewhere else www.domain.com , need remote.domain.com go box gr
