Character Counts in Office 2013 word docx and File Properties different

working character counts in word 2013 document shows count of 88,000 example when right click on same word document , @ details under file properties shows 87,328 example. 

below using a real document showing discrepancy

interesting quesion:)

in theory, character count in windows explorer gets same result characters(no spaces) value in word count.

however, operational definitions of how count words can occur (namely, "counts as" word, , words "don't count" toward total) similar but different. different word counting programs may give varying results, depending on text segmentation rule details, , on whether words outside main text (such footnotes, endnotes, or hidden text) counted.

in story, character count in windows explorer(28877) is lower result in word count (27286). it's difficult me figure out root duo to:

• the space (any of various whitespace characters, such "regular" word space, em space, or tab character)
• hyphen or slash
• asian/non-asian words.

all of them above might factors in case. hope info light you.
