Storage Server


hi,

im looking upgrade hyper v lab support clustering , shared storage. have 2 hosts  each 2 ssd drives (one os , 1 vms)

i looking @ this:

if take vm ssds out of hosts , add them (id @ buying small os ssd too), performance on iscsi? have gb connectivity between hosts , storage server.

all server 2012 r2 btw.

any advice appreciated.

not sure why want use iscsi , not smb3 ages easier setup , manage. performance point of view you'll wire speed (i'd throw in more nics real path redundancy built-in 2 ports shared dma engine).

in general: backup unit. celeron weak running production vms questionable. 


starwind virtual san clusters hyper-v without sas, fibre channel, smb 3.0 or iscsi, uses ethernet mirror internally mounted sata disks between hosts.
