Windows 2008 Server Issues!


hi all,

i fresh in windows 2008 server, , experienced issues slow network, cannot access shared folder on server. other problem server version, instance client pc (vista os) before working fine when unit joined domain start getting problem when opening documents end not responding during printing.

since february 2009, haven't found information rid out of problems. did restarting server fine week!

any ideas fellas appreciate it!

are there anti-virus applications on problematic windows server 2008 based computer?

according our experience, reported anti-virus applications, such symantec endpoint protection, may affect file sharing , printing function.

 

 

if have installed symantec endpoint protection on problematic server, may check if version of antivirus correct, , may download , install fix on problematic server see if helpful you.

if issue still exist, in order narrow down cause of issue more efficiently, let refer following steps perform clean boot , restart computer in safe mode see if issue still continues.

 

step 1: perform clean boot

 

1. click "start", go "run", , type "msconfig" in open box start system configuration utility.

2. click "services" tab, check "hide microsoft services" box , click disable (if not gray).

3. click "startup" tab, click "disable all" , click "ok".

4.  restart computer. when "system configuration utility" window appears, please check box , click "ok".

 

step 2: reboot safe mode

 

1. restart computer , start pressing f8 key on keyboard. on computer configured booting multiple operating systems, can press f8 key when see boot menu.

 

2. when windows advanced options menu appears, select safe mode, , press enter.

 

3. log onto windows using administrator account or user account administrator privileges.

 

please note: in safe mode, system display , desktop , perform differently in normal mode.
