Hyper-v joined to the domain or not join to the domain

i have installed hyper-v host.  plan vitualize 5 servers host.  planning sbs 2011 server , 4 other 2008 r2 enterprise servers.  have read not join hyper-v host domain in sbs environment but microsoft scvmm tools require hyper-v server on domain.  created virtual machine install scvmm tools , successful when try p2v error "error 3219: perimeter network host cannot used in physical-to-virtual.  should host on domain?  seems work way don't want caused active directory problems or slow downs on host.  can p2v on host not part of domain?

the scvmm p2v process requires hyper-v server domain joined hte vm being sent , machine being converted must domain joined.  (many, many complaints this)

other scvmm actions can sompleted using perimeter or dmz options.

one way folks around use disk2vhd , creat vm vhd.  or use other third party p2v tools.  when converting servers provide active directory or dns.

personally, re-build vm whenever necessary , p2v when absolutely necessary.  p2v brings baggage.
