VM hot copy?

i'm trying figure out how vm hot copy of individual running vms , appreciate insight or suggestions.

goal

to able make copies of running virtual machine vhd files location.  want able have copies of vhd files of running systems available on failover system.  idea if single blade chassis/network/san go offline have of vhds in location can bring online without having long vhd retrieval process data content has changed since vhd last backed up.

enviroment

windows 2008 r2 datacenter running on several blades in 1 blade chassis (that's have)

hyper-v vms running in cluster between blades

san attached quorum drive cluster (we have 1 san)

a large dell server lots of ram/cpus/hdd space failover machine (it's afford)

ideas

the problem 90% of these vms need stay online want able hot copy running vhd files.

vmm cloning requires vm offline not possible copy/paste or robocopy.

backup software dpm & backupexec backup entire vm host server in 1 giant backup want direct copy of vhd itself.

windows backup services makes vhd of device being backed these non-bootable vhd files.

we've looked symantec system recovery use on our physical systems requires doing drive clone image , converting vhd , time consuming.  it's rather expensive educational licenses.

i've looked hot copy tools hyper-v vhd files , i've had no luck finding resources.

suggestions?  i'm not looking told other specific way, i'm trying accomplish i'd appreciate comments me attain goal , not "just backup entire host dpm , deal it."

it wont work our clustered shared volume looks want our standalone vm host systems self contained systems.
