installation of routing and remote access service failed because class not registered (80040154)

hai,

     i had installed 2008 server , configured adds, dns , policies. working last 3 months when tried configure nat , vpn got error stating installation of routing , remote access service failed because class not registered (80040154).

i not able find solution this.how fix problem? there solution this?

i had tried following solution dosent help.........is there other solution?

install role through server manager > add roles wizard , choose network policy , access services role. after choose role 1 of sub-options routing , remote access. once have installed able go computer management > services , applications , enable it.

i agree bill. personally, don't recommend install rras on same server dc , dns. may encounter potential problems such name resolution issues.

 

regarding error message, may know version of windows server 2008 running? can check version number checking c:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe see product version on details tab of properties.

 

we have seen error on previous versions. however, bug has been fixed since build 6001.07013.

 

besides, please take @ cbs log @ c:\windows\logs\cbs\cbs.log see if error or warning logged when try configure rras?

Cannot access Anywhere Access using domain name?

after installing anywhere access in windows server 2012 essentials r2, cannot use anywhere access using setup domain name in wizard such remote.mydomain.com? if enter public ip address, example, 72.2.34.5 works. before set anywhere access, created a record pointing public address...pinged , worked...so not sure doing wrong?  is wizard supposed create record etc , make remote.mydomain.com work? if enter public ip address while on lan, takes me router webpage.  shouldn't work on lan if accessed via public ip? thank you, tim. the wizard can configure remote.microsoft_names.com  remote.remotewebaccess.com but cannot configure domains purchased outside wizard.  depends on how domain configured if wildcard.yourdomain.com should work  if try ping remote.your_domain.com afar , not give proper  public ip, need add record mariette said. much have record domain.com www.domain.com , if have website somewhere else www.domain.com , need remote.domain.com go box gr
