Missing "System Volume Information" from a Drive

hi,

i trying setup fsrm in windows 2012 , while adding g:\ file screen, following error. upon investigating issue, found "system volume information" missing under g:\ , same folder exists in c: and other drives except g:\. therefore fsrm doesn't allow me add g:\ file screening.

event id 8197

file server resource manager service error: unexpected error.

error-specific details:

   error: rtlcreatesystemvolumeinformationfolder on volume c:?\volume{bca40430-5752-11e3-93fe-001dd8b71cad} returned 0x5, 0x8000ffff, catastrophic failure

any thoughts , how can folder can configure fsrm?

hello,

system volume information folder important system folder file system work properly, besides issue have fsrm. 

i reccomend backup entire drive precaution. try fix fs errors executing "chkdsk g: /f" (you may temporarily turn system restore off). 

in case nothing works, have option format drive , restore fs structure.
