Activation Issues - what information will the fellow on the phone need?

i'm system administrator. handed dvd, told go forth , install server.

using our key, installed server 2012 r2 standard okay.

when activated host, entered key , told

this key didn't work, please check , try again, or try different key.

looked in our mpn portal , key have. so: time call microsoft.

information want?

edit: never mind!  they (we) out of licenses r2 standard.
