Problem setting USEPLATFORMCLOCK BCD option on Server 2008
hi,
i having same situation in question http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/winservergen/thread/1d7e4f84-4a9b-46c6-a040-91fc8ea066ae, on server 2008 x86, not 2008 r2 (unfortunately, 2008 r2 not available 32 bit, , 1 legacy app needs that).
according virtual machine vendor (it redhat kvm), recommended workaround set useplatformclock bcd option avoid using tsc timer, , use w32time or ntp client automatically adjust clock speed.
unfortunately, when try on 2008 (nt 6.0.6002), following error message:

c:\windows\system32>bcdedit /set {default} useplatformclock true
element data type specified not recognized, or not apply the
specified entry.
run "bcdedit /?" command line assistance.

so proper way make server 2008 (not r2) not use tsc counter time source?
is same command non-obvious change, or different setting?
p.s.
as same issue vista desktop, have posted same question in vista consumer forum. once answer works in either forum, copy other 1 benefit of other users.
