Revoke Delete Permissions issue?
hi i have created shared drive on our file server , have set permissions allow users write, read , modify files, have revoked delete permission, haven't set deny, left delete section blank. now when user (user a) creats file, he/she can open/modify/move it, , user b,c etc cannot... when reinstate delete permission, issue goes away??i must of missed simple here, cannot put finger on it, any ideas? thanks, hi, above please noticed that: if user not have delete permission, he/she not able modify (equal delete + create) or rename file except file owner (owner has full control permission). in order prevent users deleting file mistake, can create backups or vss , train users avoiding such accident. deny or revoke delete permission not method on office related files. back issue, issue disappeared after reinstate permissions on folder, please compare permission settings (in properties - security - advanced) before , after reinstate - there must changed gived userb,c per...
